- Catering Manager

Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week

Usually from 8am - around 5pm, working 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis.

Job Description

Duties will include:
• Planning menus (consulting with the Director); estimating food costs and profits, and adjusting menus.
• Controlling costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation; overseeing stock levels; ordering supplies; minimizing waste; ensuring high quality of preparation.
• Meeting financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing and managing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions and setting targets.
• Achieving operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing and improving production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
• Accomplishing human resource objectives by recruiting, training, scheduling, supervising, appraising, and disciplining employees; enforcing policies and procedures and preparing staffing reports.
• Greeting and advising customers, taking reservations, handling complaints.
• Maintaining safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations and licensing.
• Organising marketing activities, such as promotional events and discount schemes.
• Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Any other duties as reasonably required.

• Chef experience is essential
• Knowledge of the use of Rational Ovens is desirable
