Enchanted Fairy Forest

Magical fun for the young and the young at heart!

One of our most popular events of the year is not to be missed! The Enchanted Forest and Magical Fairy Garden will delight visitors young and old.

Experience a magical fantasy world as you discover tiny pixie dwellings and fairy hideaways, with Fairy Guides on hand to help you explore the forest and make it truly memorable for little ones.

Take a seat for daily pantomime-style free-flying Bird Displays - expect amazing birds of prey, parrots, and lively, costumed presenters to entertain you!

This event coincides with BIAZA's Love Your Zoo week, during which members of the public are encouraged to visit their local zoo and or aquarium and learn about the good work they do, particularly when it comes to conservation. Come see our many animal encounters, with the chance to meet our most popular residents such as Lemurs and Meerkats up close with talks from specialist Keepers, and get crafty in the Activity Centre.

Are you brave enough?!

This Father’s Day; children can challenge their fathers to a Bushtucker Challenge with chocolate grubs with nasty or nice fillings, which will you get!

The challenge will be at the end of the Free Flying Bird & Animal Displays at 12:30pm and 14:45pm in the Bird Display Arena.

Father’s that succeed in their challenge will win their child a chocolate treat!

Witness the amazing world of animals!

Meet lemurs, meerkats, owls, snakes and more in close up Animal Encounters daily.

The Realm of Camelot adventure playground, outdoor Wet Play Area and indoor Activity and Craft Centre will entertain children in all weathers.

Enjoy a range of delicious meals in the Butterfly Café, why not treat yourself to an afternoon tea?

Bat Walk Evening

£15 per person including admission.

Search for bats and other nocturnal creatures, with the opportunity to use our bat detectors, on a guided walk around our woodlands.

Includes a tour of the Butterfly House.

Light buffet and hot and cold drinks from 7:30-8:00pm.

Bat crafts available for children from 7:30-8:00pm.

Tour starts at 8:00pm in the Butterfly House, finishing in our woodlands.

If the weather is poor, there will be a tour in the Butterfly House only.

Take a seat for the pantomime-style free-flying Bird Shows, featuring amazing birds of prey and parrots; hosted by scary witches!

Carve a pumpkin and join in spooky crafts and activities, suitable for children of all ages.

Daily kids’ fancy dress competition and unforgettable Animal Encounters with Lemurs, Meerkats, Owls, Snakes and creepy-crawlies throughout the day.

3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th, 17th - 24th, 31st December & 1st - 2nd January (closing 4pm Christmas Eve, Santa will be leaving his Grotto after Christmas Eve)

Hitch a ride aboard a magical sleigh on your way to meet Father Christmas at the Enchanted Grotto

Visit the Nativity scene in the cosy stable and meet friendly farm animals, as well as Lemurs, Meerkats, Owls, Snakes and more in unforgettable Animal Encounters

Take a seat for pantomime-style free-flying Bird Shows daily, featuring amazing birds of prey and parrots, and visit the Elf Workshop for Christmas crafts and activities including writing a letter to Santa
