We are open! Find out about changes to the park and how to book your tickets ...

Good to Go

We are delighted to announce our reopening on Saturday 18 July 2020. Please read the following guidelines about what to expect when you visit us over the coming weeks.

We are open daily from Saturday 18 July 2020. Our opening times may vary please see httpss://

To ensure we can all observe safe social distancing, there will be restrictions on the number of visitors allowed at the park each day.

We will need everyone to book online prior to their visit, including annual pass holders and rainy day return ticket holders.

Tickets are currently being released on a monthly basis, however this restriction may change.

All bookings, excluding annual pass holders and rainy day return tickets, will be subject to a booking fee, per person.

IMPORTANT: Rule of 6 - in line with the latest UK government guidelines, from Monday 14 September we will be unable to admit groups with more than 6 people unless you are all within the same household or bubble. We kindly remind you of this when booking tickets online. If you have already pre-booked a party of more than 6 from different households, please contact us at thank you.

For more information please see httpss://

If you are travelling from a very high risk area (local lockdown) other than South Yorkshire, please do not book tickets at this time, if you have already booked please contact us to rearrange your booking. httpss://
Please note due to the local very high covid alert from Saturday 24 October - government guidance states 'you must not meet socially with friends and family indoors in any setting unless they are part of your household or support bubble. This includes private homes and indoors in hospitality venues, such as pubs. You must also not meet with people outside of your household or support bubble in a private garden or in most outdoor public venues.' httpss://
If the park cannot open due to a full lockdown or the government restricts you from travelling to us (and you email us at least 24 hours before your visit is due) you may change the date of your visit for another date within the next 12 months. Please contact us at with the date you would like to change it to.

We are introducing arrival times to help alleviate queues and maintain social distancing. Each visit will be for a duration of three hours maximum with no re-admission*. You will be asked to select an arrival time when making your booking online. We ask that you please arrive at your agreed time as we cannot guarantee entry to visitors who arrive outside of their arrival time. To allow us to review visitor capacities and work in line with the changing regulations initially tickets can only be booked one month in advance*.

Please note your arrival time e.g. if your booking is for 11am - 2pm then your arrival time is 11am.

*This restriction may be eased - please see our social media pages for updates.

Please park in the marked out bays. Lottie's car park is for disabled parking only.

All areas of the park are free flowing apart from the indoor Tropical House which is a one way system.

Whilst visiting us we kindly ask you to respect everyone's safety and adhere to social distancing rules. There are lots of signs around the park to remind you.

Please wash and sanitise your hands at regular intervals using the washing facilities around the park. We have intensified our daily cleaning procedures. Our staff will be wearing face coverings to ensure that they and visitors are protected whilst onsite. Toilets will be open at the Indoor Activity Centre and Outdoor Play Park.

Must be worn in the indoor tropical house, craft centre, Jungle gift shop and whilst queuing for food. Thank you for your cooperation.

Animal feed bundles including nectar pots (£4.50), otter feeding fish pots (£3) and VIP Lemur feeding experiences (£20 for up to 6 people in your group) can be purchased online when booking. During the current circumstances and for the foreseeable future we cannot operate our tractor ride, bird shows, animal encounters, talks and experiences. We are following government and BIAZA guidelines and we will update you with any changes in the near future. However, our Realms of Camelot play parks are open for you to enjoy. Please wash and sanitise your hands before and after play and maintain social distancing.

The Indoor Activity Centre is open on two floors for you to enjoy games and activities, all socially distanced and cleaned routinely throughout the day.

We regret we are currently unable to offer our VIP animal experiences. If your experience was postponed due to lockdown or you have booked an upcoming experience or have a gift voucher to book, please be assured these will be extended for you and we hope to resume and make them available for booking again soon. Please get in touch at

We are pleased to offer a new VIP lemur feeding experience. This must be booked online when purchasing your admission tickets and you must book the correct session within your 3 hour slot. We have introduced something new to the menu, a range of delicious picnic boxes. Please help us to recover after this period of closure by leaving your sandwiches at home and treating yourself to one of our tasty picnic boxes. Choose from afternoon tea for two and children's boxes. Picnic boxes can be pre-booked online as part of your visit, up until 4pm on the day before your visit.

Forgot to add one? You can now also book picnic boxes separately here httpss://

Lottie's will be serving hot drinks and a simple menu and you may visit Lottie's before or after you visit if you wish (so outside of your 3 hour visit timeslot). The Big Red Bus will serve hot drinks and snacks at weekends however as always this may close if there is bad weather. Should we need to close the bus, other provisions will be made. Contactless payments are preferred. The Butterfly Cafe remains closed for the time being.

From 24 July, in line with government guidance, face coverings will need to be worn at Lottie's whilst queuing to order food or drinks, once seated these can be removed. Please bring your own face covering, thank you.

We kindly remind our customers about the latest UK government guidelines from 14 September, when meeting with people you don’t live with you can socialise together in groups of no more than 6 (unless you are all within the same household or bubble).

Due to the current local high covid alert government guidance now states 'you must not socialise with anybody outside of your household or support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place. You must not socialise in a group of more than 6 outside, including in a garden or other spaces like beaches or parks (other than where specific exemptions apply in law).

Only two families at any one time, please maintain social distancing. Please only pick up what you intend to buy. Contactless payments are preferred. From 24 July, the wearing of face masks in shops will become mandatory, please bring your own face covering to wear, thank you.

Please do not travel to visit us if you or any member of your group are showing any symptoms of Covid-19 (or have come into contact with someone has experienced symptoms of Covid-19 in the last 14 days). The Tropical Butterfly House and Lottie's remain the right to refuse entry to anyone who we feel is showing signs of Covid-19.
