Our Animals

Birds are a class of warm-blooded vertebrates called Aves.

They have wings and are covered in feathers but not all can fly! (their feathers also assist with temperature regulation and display). They also have a hard beak with no teeth and lay eggs.

More than 9000 different species of birds are known (about 40 of which are flightless!). An amazing array of shapes, sizes and plummages, they can be found on every continent of the world, thriving in all types of conditions!

Here at the park, stop for a chat with our spectacularly colourful parrots at Macaw Kingdom and listen out for our lovely Lorikeets in the Bird House to brighten your day!
