Our Red Crested Wood Partridge are enjoying a mealworm breakfast!

Our red crested wood partridge are having a few mealworms for breakfast here at the Tropical House! These awesome little birds are naturally found living in the lowland rainforests of Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra and Borneo.

The males have their characteristic red crest where as the females green and brown plumage helps her to camouflage when incubating clutches of eggs. They are just starting to explore possible nesting sites so hopefully there will be new chick's over the next few months!
