It's nest box cleaning time!

Over the last week, our conservation manager Jo has busy emptying and cleaning our native bird nest boxes.

There are over 150 of them located across the wildlife park, housing everything from jackdaws and blue tits to great tits and goldfinches.
One of Jo’s favourite finds was Corrie the Shetland pony’s hair being used as cosy nesting material!
It's always important to empty the boxes and thoroughly clean them (with boiling water) once the inhabitants have 'flown the nest', all ready for a new family to move in.
