Great crested newt survey

We’re committed to providing the best possible conservation habitats.

It was a pleasure to welcome Estrada Ecology consultancy to the wildlife park today. As local and enthusiastic ecologist consultants, they were here to undertake an ecology survey for our 3 outdoor wildlife ponds to check their suitability as a habitat for the great crested newt and smooth newt.

Want to see newts for yourself? You can spot these incredible amphibians in our ponds during their breeding season, now through to late May/early June. Being semi-aquatic like frogs, they will move onto land for the rest of the summer and hibernate in winter!

We’re committed to providing the best possible habitats and the survey results will help us do just that - watch this space for updates!
